It articulates so much of what I feel about this song, and your comment on 'I can change, I swear' is so right. Perhaps only matched in intensity and honesty by the end of 'Sara'.

I don't agree with you on the rejected session recording. To me, it's far better. I understand your point, but the stripped down version carries the emotion more. In fact, only 'Lily...' benefited from the reworking I think. And the astonishing 'Up to me' could have been squeezed on, I am sure!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2448601238585270507.post-22672048472549840892014-04-23T12:31:43.191-07:002014-04-23T12:31:43.191-07:00This song is simply perfect. For all it's polish it contains howls of despair in his vocals. The words are perfect, the music (from a man who claims he isn't a melody writer!!!) is beautiful. I heard Blood on the Tracks in my 20s and didn't get all the fuss about it- I was even a bit bored by it!!! The intervening years and baggage have certainly changed my mind. His voice was never better than on this album. Thanks Bob!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14152064409944952778noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2448601238585270507.post-92075421271217540512012-07-25T01:13:17.707-07:002012-07-25T01:13:17.707-07:00never written before, but take this chance to than...never written before, but take this chance to thank you for this labour of lovealexanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12867952374284948064noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2448601238585270507.post-76629767402354115702012-05-23T08:07:00.903-07:002012-05-23T08:07:00.903-07:00There is always a deeper meaning to any Dylan'...There is always a deeper meaning to any Dylan's song.
